major4 major sports teams no champs.
Is there anyway that we can have a champion in the Metroplex? The Stars & The Cowboys were champs over 10 yrs ago.........what has happened to my town. We had a couple of teams that kicked ass. Now we have 4 teams who are close but no cubans. I don't have much to say about the Rangers. I really don't have any, I mean ANY expectations for that organization. If they made the post season it would surprise the hell out of me. The last time it was even a thought; I was a frosh in college. Now it seems like my town is the place for "Regular Season" champs; underachievers so to speak.
When the Rangers were a good team something to be proud of; the "powers that be" got rid of what was progress in my opinion. I was only a young buck then but I thought I knew everything about sports and the Rangers were decent. Juan Gonzalez, Pudge Rodriguez, Rick Helling, Rusty Greer, Aaron Selling. Where are these guys? I know that was 13yrs ago but it should have been something for the team to build upon. All I assume is that there is a Super Sports Agent that will murder something called T-E-A-M; only to achieve more dough for himself and of course his client. Some owners will give in to the demands but others will say screw you Scott I'll trade that fucka. Well............we see where that has gotten us last place every year and no damn farm system to be proud of either.
Mark Cuban. We were so please when someone who actually cared about the MAVS bought em. You cared so much about the team that you brought in Dennis Rodman to boost ticket sales and to have a "STAR" on the roster. After Derrick Harper and Ro Blackman I really can't remember who was on those teams when Don Nelson was playing the mad scientist. Of course we got Mike Finley who was a star in the making but everyone else is a blurrrrrrr. Then I was pissed because you trade J-Kidd and make a strong case for his back up in Phoenix...Brotha Nash. I couldn't stand him because he could not stay healthy in the beginning in Dallas. Well I was wrong about that because Stevie has turned me into a believer that he may be the second coming of Mr. Stockton that is until Chris Paul's performance this year. But along came Dirk and some other pieces and the MAVS were a Western Powerhouse overnight. Other teams just could not hang with the pace they ran. Now I think the Mavs should not have made the playoffs, we fell off tremendously from the Finals 2yrs ago. Eliminated in the first round back to back yrs. What the hell happened? Big Don is Gone. Avery is Gone. Brotha Nash and Fin were gone before the trip to the Finals. But J-Kidd is back older and slower. What's the point. Rick Carlisle was hired on Wednesday only time will tell.
The Dallas Cowboys.......Texx Schramm. The Great Tom Landry. Mr. Jerry Jones a millionairing marketing genius who maybe wants to be a coach. Jimmy, Troy, Emmitt, and Michael----3 Super Bowls. Yes I said 3 Super Bowls; after Jimmy's exit that victory vs the Steelers was also Jimmy's. Barry is the King of Oklahoma. If you are from Texas I don't have to say anything else. From there its has been alot of hope and wishin. Gailey?%*@....whateva. Campo--puppet. Parcells--dictatorship. Wade Phillips, Romo, the Barbarian & in the back we got Jason Garrett we'll see. I luv football so my pros out weigh the cons. The criticism is minimal. Movin On........
I really don't have anything negative to say about the Dallas Stars. They have been really consistent and making the playoffs every year since they moved to the Metroplex and winning 1 cup and losing in the other. But they make the playoffs. Someone needs to take a lesson from this organization cuz they continue to win. They may fall short in the playoffs but at least they go and put up a fight.
If you share my opinion good for you. But I would like to see another Super Bowl, "1" ALCS, another Finals before I get any older. Please Jerry, Mark, and Tom get out of the way and let you General Managers do the job that you hired them to do. That is why they were hired right?
